Before you buy

Please read this first

You are buying a digital file, not a finished garment and not a guarantee of a result. What you get out of a pattern depends on your yarn or fabric, your tension, your printer and your making. None of that is something we can control or check for you.

What to do before you cut anything

  1. Print one test page at 100 percent, not "fit to page", and measure the test square. If the square is wrong, everything is wrong.
  2. Crochet and knitting: work a gauge swatch. The finished measurements only hold at the stated gauge.
  3. Sewing: check the pattern pieces before cutting, and compare the size chart to your own measurements rather than to a shop size.
  4. If in any doubt, try it in scrap fabric or cheap yarn first. Do not cut expensive fabric until you are sure.

All sales are final

Digital files are non-refundable. Delivery is instant and a file cannot be returned once it has been sent, so all sales are final. This is the same policy this shop has always had and it is standard for instant downloads.

If a file has a mistake in it, we will correct it or replace it. That is the remedy. Write to us and we will fix the file.

Materials and costs

We are not responsible for fabric, yarn, notions, printing, time or any other cost you incur while working from a pattern, and we do not accept that risk. The price of a pattern cannot underwrite the price of materials, which is why the checks above matter: test first, then commit.

If something is wrong

Email hello@shopcedarcompass.com before you carry on. If a file has a mistake in it we will correct it or replace it, and that is the remedy. It only works while there is still something to save, so please write before you cut, not after.

Immediate delivery

By buying you ask for the file to be delivered immediately and you accept that this ends the 14 day right of withdrawal that would otherwise apply to digital content.

Use

For personal use and for selling individual items you have made yourself. The file itself may not be shared, resold or passed on. Every file carries the buyer's email address and order number.
